Melakkaveri K. Thiagarajan had initial training under the able tutelage of Dr.R.Karpagam M.A.,PhD (Music). Then had advanced training from Violin Maestro Ramananathapuram Sri Venkatachalam Iyer.
Thiagarajan had intense training on concert performance techniques from Sri V.L.Kumar, a veteran Violinist .He focused his training in violin accompaniment & intricacies of Raga Alapana .Violin Player in Carnatic Music for the last 15 years,
